Easily recognisable with its turf roof, overlooking Lake Sjusjøen, just off the main road through Sjusjøen. Here you will find reception for the hostel and the cabin centre, dining room for ca 50 people and cafe for ca 100 people. Breakfast and dinner, cakes, sandwiches – and you should not miss Vertshuset’s Norwegian wafers with sour cream and strawberry marmalade! In the mini market you will find, bread, milk, snacks and groceries. Meeting room for 40/50 people.
Fjellheimen at Sjusjøen has a unique location at the shores of Lake Sjusjøen with a view towards the mountain areas to the south and east of the lake. In winter, there is direct access to Sjusjøen’s vast net of ski tracks, the distance to Birkebeinerbakken ski lift is ca. 1,5 kms. In summer Sjusjøen Sommerland which is a physical part of Fjellheimen offers a variety of activities for the whole family.

Basic standard, budget accommodation.

Originally, one of Sjusjøen’s oldest hotels, established in 1906. To-day’s hostel consists of the main building + 2 annexes, totalling ca 90 beds in 1/2/3/4 – beded rooms, most of which with hot and cold running water, shower/wc in the corridor. A few rooms with private facilities. The main building offers a sitting room, dining area and a kitchen for self catering. The majority of the the units are located in Fjellheimen itself, whilst the 2 apartments no 40 + 41 are located higher up in Sjusjøen and connected to Sjusjøen Sport & Aktiviteter. All units offer shower/wc/tlph/TV – the majority also telephone and a private sauna.
