Lillehammer Church was consecrated
in 1882. The church seats 600 and was renovated in 1959 when its presents
altar piece, carved and painted by Maja Refsum Nygård-Nilsen.

The Garmo stave church is from Lom, Gudbrandsdal.
It was probably built in the 1100’s, but has been pulled down and
re-erected at the museum named Maihaugen in Lillehammer.

The stave church from the Middle Ages was
torn down and replaced with the present church in 1723. The font in soapstone
and the church bells are amongst the oldest items in the church, 1100.

The Church in Norway was Roman Catholic at
that time. The stave church at Ringebu, built c.1220, is one of 28 surviving
stave churches and is one of the largest.

Tretten church

Tretten Church was consecrated on September
12th 1728 and got the name "Our Saviors Church". It replaced
a logged church from the 1580's which had become to small. This church
was located further up the hillside, nearby the farm known as Prestgården.

Øyer Church was consecrated on
July 2nd 1725 and got the name "The Temple of the Holy Trinity".
The old church at Orrestad, a wooden church in stave-technique, had
burned to the ground after being hit by lightening three years earlier.
